Kennedy as a Flower Child

Here are great pics of Kennedy in her new knit hat from the local knit shop. Jenn & I had fun picking out yarn, patterns, and cute things for Kennedy!! Kennedy's also wearing the tie dye outfit we bought from a couple in California..."the Tie Dye Lady".... definitely original flower children of the 60's.

Beach at Birch Bay with the Grandchildren 7-1-7

We're discovering how wonderful it is to be grandparents! We spent last Sunday with our 2 grandchildren. We're at a large RV resort in Birch Bay, WA...just 7 miles south of the Canadian border (British Columbia). The weather cooperated and gave us a great day of warm (not hot) sunshine. The tide was out, which enabled us to walk far out into the bay.

Parker loved romping in the water with his Grandpa Dennis, while Kennedy enjoyed the sunshine, lovingly cradled by mom Jenn in the sling baby carrier. [What a terrific invention...wish we'd had that when our kids were little....so much better than the umbrella strollers of the '70's.]

It was exciting to view the beach through the eyes of a 2-year old, experiencing the water and navigating through seaweed, shells, and wet sand. Parker filled 2 buckets with seashells...beginning his personal shell collection, and creating what will hopefully be a long-lasting memory of a fun day at the beach with Grandma & Grandpa!

Our First Blog!

We've finally taken the plunge and become "bloggers"! Everyone has been asking us for years to document our extensive travels, and this seems like the best venue to reach not only our own mailing list, but the entire world, or at least those in our world.

After spending the winter and spring months in Southern California, we're back in the beautiful Northwest...Washington State, to be specific. We've literally traveled from one border to the other. In March and April, we were in San Diego County, just across from the Mexican border. Here's a pic of us at Lassen Peak National Park in California in early June.
We are now in Birch Bay, WA....next to Blaine, which is at the Canadian border of the U.S. and British Columbia, Canada. It's beautiful here, and we're glad to be back in the cooler weather in Washington.

Most importantly, we've been able to spend quality time with our children and grandchildren!

Our grandson, Parker, is now 2 years old and so much fun to be with. He's quite talkative, loves his books, and is just too too funny! He amazes us with his quick wit, funny Parker-isms, and of course, his genius. He also loves his new baby sister, Kennedy, who is now 3 months old. She, of course, is a beautiful little girl, and such a good baby. We're blessed to have 2 beautiful, healthy, loveable grandchildren, and we cherish each moment we're with them.

Dennis' daughter will be 21 this summer, and she is adapting to her new life as a U.S. Marine. Fortunately, she's staying in the U.S. for now. Dennis' 2 older sons are still in the greater Seattle area, so we get to see them as well.

Dennis created a myspace account to be able to visit the kids' "myspace" pages....so, be sure to visit our page at DenAliJackson. www.myspace.com/denalijackson He'll be creating a myspace page devoted to his music, so check back from time to time for news on that.

There are a lot of bald eagles in this area of the country, and we got some amazing pics the other day. Will post those soon.

Next, we'll post a blog for Q&A, much like the "Ask Dennis" column we had in our original "Messages From Beyond" newsletter. By using a blog, we'll be able to reach a lot more people, and answer a lot more questions. So, get your questions ready....

That's it for now....we're heading to Tacoma, WA...Dennis is playing in a band at the "Taste of Tacoma" this afternoon. What fun! Will post pictures of that, too.

Thanks for stopping by. Looking forward to chatting with you all!
